Here it is at last! The long awaited unveiling of the mighty hot wheels that will get us all the way to Cameroon! Some things seem so simple at first. “Just nip over to Rome, pick up car and drive back. Shouldn’t take too long, should it?” Think again! The array of different modes of transport required to get from A to B, then back, is somewhat ridiculous! I had lost my original teammate long before the start of the rally. Having spent the past few weeks trying – and failing – to persuade anyone to join the Mangomatics’ African adventure, I was starting to face up to the fact that I may end up on the start line without a co-driver.
