Every so often you need to do something that puts a smile on your face.
We’re doing two things: we’re embarking on a little adventure,attempting to drive a totally unsuitable car across mountains,steppes and deserts in a bid to reach Mongolia. By itself this experience should provide ample comical relief. To top it off,we are doing it (almost) entirely unselfishly to raise much needed funds for children in Mongolia.
The Mangomatics are the team of adventurers comprising Kevin Mann and assorted others who occasionally disappear over the horizon to recharge their batteries,take a few snaps and raise money for charity.
Our Mongol Run 2011 starts on Saturday 23rd July from Goodwood (UK) at the Festival of Slow. We hope to cross the finish line in UlaanBaatar (Mongolia) about 4 weeks later,although experience tells us that mechanical failures,detours and other distractions could make those timescales a tad optimistic. Come what may,we have to be back in the UK within 5 weeks…ish.
